Work and Health Ministry

Since 2007, the Work and Health Ministry has defined rare diseases, including genetic diseases, as one of the priorities of the Public health law which aims at favoring patients management as well as diagnostic and therapeutic innovation.

The Imagine Foundation lies within this priority since it aims to gather in one building doctors, teachers and scientists, so that altogether they can better comprehend these diseases and bring diagnostic and therapeutic solutions to patients.

This is why the Work and Health Ministry has decided to support the Imagine project by granting 20 million Euros to the Foundation for the construction of the Imagine Institute of genetic diseases.
Région Ile de France

The Region supports the creation, within the Necker-Enfants malades hospital, of a place where searchers and doctors will work together on genetic diseases.

By cofinancing the construction of the Institute Imagine of genetic diseases, from autumn 2009 onwards, within the Necker-Enfants malades hospital in Paris, the region will kill two birds with one stone: it will contribute to accelerate research on genetic diseases and to improve treatments and quality of life for the children suffering from these diseases. For a reason as simple as innovating:  the structure, which will open its doors in 2013, will accomodate research laboratories and consultation spaces for sick children. All of this will enable searchers and doctors to implement a more efficient collaboration.
